WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS 2017-2018
September 16 - 17, 2017 - Terri Click
Shirt Remake - ala Alabama Chanin
Terri has written that her husband is a neat-nick, and that stains on his t-shirts no matter how small will be NOT worn in public. She, however, will not waste those perfectly good shirts and remakes them into shirts for her and other smaller sized family members. She mixes and matches color, texture, fabrics…. everything goes because the shirts are free. Knowing that takes the pressure off of creating and frees up the whole process! This idea/process is perfected by Natalie Chanin and the Alabama Stitch and Studio books. In addition to hand work, Terri also uses a mixture of machine work, tracing and stitching, and machine embroidery work. She also adds beads, yarn and couching to embellish for depth. There is no “one” way to do regular or reverse applique; no two shirts are alike..
